Wikipedia defines “nerd” as “an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit. Nerds are generally considered to be awkward, shy and/or unattractive by most.” Well, the world and the word have changed. The new nerd is outgoing, charming, attractive, articulate, and athletic with diverse social interests and hobbies. They fish, surf, hike, play basketball, practice yoga and like to hang out at the beach. They also happen to be brilliant.
