Joanne Pastula is the president and CEO of Junior Achievement of San Diego and Imperial Counties which
teaches business and economics to 34,000 students in 22 school districts.
Before joining JA more than 10 years ago, Joanne was executive vice president,
a principal shareholder and a director of John Burnham & Company where she
worked from 1977-1995. She is very active in numerous boards, commissions and
community activities including Rotary Club 33, the Ackerman Foundation, the San
Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, and the Dean’s Advisory Board
for San Diego State University.
Darcy Bingham and Carrie Stone are the founders of San Diego Social Venture Partners, an organization of
individuals with business, technology, and professional backgrounds. Partners
invest their time, talents and resources in the San Diego community. SVP
measures outcomes and works to help build organizational capacity. Each year,
the group has a different focus, and for 2006-2007, the theme is hunger and
homelessness. Organizations with whom the group has worked include the Human
Development Foundation, the Sierra Club, Second Chance and San Diego
Coastkeeper.
Randy Broberg, recently named one of the best transactional intellectual
property attorneys in San Diego by the San Diego Daily Transcript, is a partner
at the law firm of Allen Matkins. His diverse clients have included
representing General Atomics in a manufacturing arrangement against a Korean
company, representing tennis player Serena Williams to acquire the domain name www.serenawilliams.com, and trademark representation of
Directed Electronics which makes the Viper car alarms.
